XMLAX
A Centering Concept For Cooperation
&
LAX
January 10, 2001
Technology waves come one after another, changing the landscape and the fortunes of individuals, companies, towns and entire countries.
The next coming wave is XML, which will drive the economics of knowledge systems for the next ten years.
The emerging use of XML as a sea change technology will require many individuals and companies with expertise and vision.
The greatest obstacle to the implementation of XML is the lack of XML-literate workers.
At recent meetings of the cTBA and the United Coulee Region we heard that the next growth opportunities will be in Software Development and that those on the leading if not bleeding edge will benefit the most.
XMLAX is a cooperative effort to self educate the La Crosse / Winona area on the benefits and the implementation of XML.
Steve Balmer, President of Microsoft Corporation, on being asked what solution providers should do NOW
"Id study XML. They should come up to speed on the strategy and understand that XML is the direction."

Need More Reasons?
1. In the past year, XML has evolved from intriguing architectural
concept to ubiquitous computing infrastructure. Our technical program has
made similarly spectacular advances.
2. We've moved from a format that emphasizes shorter sessions to a
format that emphasizes longer tutorials. The ever increasing
sophistication of XML applications demands this more in depth coverage.
3. At the same time, we've expanded from three to six tracks so we can
accommodate the great breadth of XML applications even though each class
is longer.
4. We've also finely honed our model of speaker requirements based on
feedback from previous conferences. We've used this model to carefully
filter submissions so you get only the most useful content from the most
qualified presenters.
5. All this tuning has given us what I believe to be the premier
educational program among XML events.
6. Education has become especially important as XML begins to close
out its early adopter stage. Organizations are starting to deploy
substantial numbers of business critical applications using XML.
Vendors and service providers are putting the infrastructure in place to
support large volumes of these applications.
7. These trends are creating an environment ripe with possibilities
for creating new levels of value with XML applications. Education
provides the foundation for making these possibilities into realities.
8. So come help us push the envelope in Austin!
9. Early Bird, Alumni, and Group Discounts offer greater savings than ever
before.
10. Easy, Secure Online registration at
http://www.xmlconference.com/austin saves you time, locks in your first
choice of classes, and gets you a FREE XML One polo shirt.
Full conference information can be found online. Register Today!
